How long does it take for Social Security to act upon a request for appeals council review?

Video Transcription

It takes roughly two years, for Social Security to act upon Appellate Counsel Review, and this is because once you appeal to the Appellate Counsel, which needs to be done within 60 days of your Social Security Disability Hearing Denial, the Appellate Counsel will then look at all of your medical evidence, from the beginning of your disability application, up through the date of hearing, to see if there was any error on the judge’s part, and compare their decision to with what the judge had determined, to determine whether the case needs to go back down for review, or needs to be reversed.
