What information should I obtain after my Florida car accident?
If you’re involved in a Florida car accident and you’re at the accident scene, it is important for you to get information from the other driver. You need to get a copy of their driver’s license if you can take a picture of it on your phone, get a picture of the property damage to the other driver’s vehicle as well as your own, and a picture of the accident scene and where the vehicles are located at that time. Be sure to get the insurance information from the other driver. While you’re at the scene, be sure that the police department is contacted and comes out to write a report so that you have that for your insurance company as well. If there are any witnesses that are available at the scene, be sure to get their contact information. Do not rely on the police department to put that information in the police report, as often it does not appear there.
